Case
Every project is different: different technology, different timeline, different pressure. What stays the same is how we approach each one: find the right people, set up the right structure, and manage the engagement so our clients get results without surprises.
Here are two examples from our recent work.
Case Study I: Global Automotive OEM: New Production Line Software
CLIENT PROFILE
The German subsidiary of a multinational automotive engineering company with over 1,300 employees, operating in three-shift continuous production.
THE CHALLENGE
The client needed new software based on standard PLC coding applied to their new production lines. Their internal engineering team lacked the specific capacity to take on the project, and the work required not just programming ability but a deep understanding of the production process and the assembly line’s operational logic. The software had to be developed, tested at the manufacturer’s site, and brought into final operation: all within a fixed timeline.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
We assigned twelve PLC programmers from our network. This was not a random selection. The experts had extensive experience in assembly line control systems and had demonstrated a strong track record of independent problem-solving on similarly complex projects. Beyond writing the software, our experts drafted a proposal based on the client’s production process and then executed the entire implementation from start to finish, carrying out pre-commissioning at the manufacturer’s site and overseeing final commissioning on the client side.
HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKED
The experts worked directly alongside the client’s internal project manager and engineers for six months. Nerdmation handled all contractual setup, worksheet tracking, and administrative coordination throughout the engagement, providing the client with regular progress visibility without adding management overhead to their internal team.
THE RESULT
The equipment completed its test run ahead of the original schedule and was ready for delivery to the end client without delays.
Case Study II: Tier 1 German Machinery Manufacturer: Multi-Expert Deployment
CLIENT PROFILE
A Tier 1 German automotive machinery company with over 400 employees, a 5,000+ square meter production area, and more than 500 pieces of large-scale manufacturing equipment sold internationally.
THE CHALLENGE
The client needed complete control software built from scratch for automobile parts assembly machines. The scope covered PLC programming, robotic software development, system testing, and on-site production startup support. The technical complexity was high, and the project required multiple specialists working in coordination, not just in parallel.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
We deployed a team of four: three PLC programmers and one robot programmer. What made this engagement distinctive was the composition of the team. The four experts came from different countries, spoke different native languages, and had different working styles. We selected them not just for their technical capabilities, but for their ability to integrate, both with each other and with the client’s internal engineers. Their communication styles, flexibility, and discipline were assessed before deployment to ensure the team would function as a unit, not as four individuals working side by side.
HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKED
The project ran for six months, covering the full lifecycle from software development through integration, testing, and hands-on production startup support. Nerdmation coordinated all worksheets, scheduling, subcontractor administration, and client reporting throughout.
THE RESULT
The system went live on time, without the need for any post-launch technical corrections. No late-stage fixes. No rework. The client reported that they had expected a successful outcome, but had not anticipated the level of clarity and coordination the team maintained under production pressure.
