PARTNER I.
The German subsidiary of a multinational automotive engineering company, 1300+ employees, 3-shift continuous production.
OBJECTIVE
Program software for a highly specialised assembly line machine due to lack of in-house engineering capacity; test that software at the manufacturer’s site and put it into final operation.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Testing the control software of an assembly machine according to user requirements, in cooperation with the manufacturer’s internal project manager and engineers. Duration: 6 months.
TASKS PERFORMED
We developed custom control software for the equipment in the absence of standardised software. We also drafted a proposal to define implementation and a production process best suited to the production volume.
RESULT
We performed a test run of the equipment ahead of schedule that was ready for delivery to the final customer.
PARTNER II.
TIER1 German automotive machinery company. 400+ employees, 500+ pieces of large-scale automobile manufacturing equipment sold, 5000+ sqm production area.
OBJECTIVE
Compensate for partner’s lack of internal engineering capacity to create custom software for automobile parts assembly machines. Testing and implementing that software.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Building of complete control software using control software components according to the given standard. Duration: 4 months.
TASKS PERFORMED
We completed an initial independent knowledge assessment of the standard framework software and its architecture. Within the customer’s deadline, we programmed software to improve production capacity within the partner’s design capacity requirements. We then implemented the software, including on-site production startup support.
RESULT
Throughout the project, thanks to the establishment of a smooth collaboration with the client’s project manager and engineers, the project was completed on time and without the need for ex-post technical corrections.
